Which staples for a stapler are better?
Today many manufacturers make staples for fastening papers. However, the best choice is to buy staples of a brand that is identical to the main tool, since such devices will have perfect compatibility. Although disposable products from well-known brands are interchangeable, a staple from one brand may not fit a stapler of another.

To choose staples, you need to understand how they differ. After all, properly selected products determine the strength and practicality of the formed stack. But first, it is worth figuring out how the stapler works. A set of documents is inserted into the device slot. Under the pressure of the upper pressing plate and the spring, the staple pierces the stack of paper. In this case, the sharper the edges of the machine’s “cartridges,” the easier it will be to pierce the documents. In the construction of the lower working plate there are two indentations designed for the correct bending of the fastening edges. Therefore, the ends that reach the bottom part of the anvil are bent at a set angle, securely fixing the required stack of papers into one whole. All fastened staples can be removed. For this you will need an anti-stapler (staple remover).

Dimensions. For convenience in selection, all products are marked with a special abbreviation: X / Y. The letter X indicates the wire width, Y indicates the length of the leg that holds the sheets. This characteristic is selected taking into account the number of sheets you plan to combine. With the correct size of the metal plate, you can staple both 15 and 240 sheets without any difficulty. For solving office tasks, the most commonly purchased staple sizes are: 5/10 mm, 6/26 mm (these parameters are calculated for paper thickness of 0.01 mm, density 80 g / m2).
Material. Most often they are made of steel, which is characterized by strength, durability, and wear resistance. To improve functional characteristics, the wire is coated with a layer of copper, zinc, or nickel, which are resistant to corrosion.
Color. Office supplies can come in a wide variety of shades. They are widely used for labeling documentation of different formats, simplifying the process of finding the required information. However, it is worth considering that the colored coating is not corrosion-resistant. On the surface of documents stapled with such staples, as a result of long-term storage in a cold warehouse, a rusty mark may appear.
