Classification of office paper

Office paper of A4 / A3 format with a density of 80 g / m2 is divided into 3 classes:

Class “A”

- office paper with excellent technical characteristics. Intended for printing documents of the highest quality (business correspondence with partners and clients, documents printed for company management, etc.). Guarantees maximum print quality, can be used for all printing technologies, ensures better operation of office equipment. Ideal for printing documents on high-speed printers and copiers; suitable for both single-sided and double-sided printing (including color). Does not contain resins and other substances.

Class “B”

- universal high-quality xerographic paper, optimal in terms of price and quality. Technical characteristics are slightly lower than those of class “A”. Can be used in practically all equipment, except for devices that require special papers. Convenient for companies that do not need large volumes of copying.

Class “C”

- the most economical printer paper, with the minimum technical parameters. Intended for printing documents with low requirements for paper quality.

The most important parameters of office white paper are considered to be density, whiteness, and cutting quality.

Paper density (in g / m2)

determines the ability of the device to work with paper. The most common density value for office paper grades is 80-90 g / m2. If it deviates downward, multiple sheets may be picked up at the same time.

Paper whiteness

- is the ability of paper to reflect light indistinctly and uniformly in all directions. This indicator provides contrast between the image and the paper, making it easier to perceive information.

Cutting quality of the paper is a very important characteristic, since paper dust and burrs damage the internal mechanisms of the printing device. It is recommended to use office paper only with factory-cutting performed at the paper manufacturer’s plant, as this ensures better operation of office equipment and reduces costs for its maintenance.

Using good A4 paper for copying reduces service costs by 30%, because 80% of all service work occurs due to equipment contamination and paper dust.
